Health New Lynn offers same-day appointments with our Nurse Prescribers for all enrolled patients.
If you have a mild illness or injury, our Nurse Prescribers can see you, and regularly have same-day appointment availability. This is a convenient option for patients who need care on the day for common health concerns, without needing to wait for a GP appointment. Nurse Prescribers are highly trained to assess, diagnose, and prescribe medication where appropriate.
Patients requiring more complex or urgent medical attention, further investigations, or referrals will be seen by a GP or Nurse Practitioner.
Nurse Prescribers can help with:
- Colds and flu
- Sore throats
- Ear and skin infections
- UTIs and some other infections
- Minor cuts and wounds
- Emergency contraception.
Cost (enrolled patients):
- Under 14: Free
- 14–18 years: $20 / CSC $10
- 18–65 years: $45 / CSC $10
- 65+: $40 / CSC $10.
Some treatments may have extra costs.
