Meet Dr Manduli Premachandra
PGM (Hons), PGDIPOMG (Distinction), RNZCGP (training)
I was born in Sri Lanka and raised here in New Zealand, before completing my medical degree in Russia at Kursk State Medical University. I’m fluent in both English and Sinhalese, and I’m passionate about connecting with people from all backgrounds.
After returning to New Zealand in 2019, I worked at Whanganui Hospital, where I gained broad clinical experience and spent my final year as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar. During this time, I also completed my Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology.
Outside of medicine, I love travelling and immersing myself in different cultures – experiences that strengthen my holistic and patient‑centred approach to care.
Special interests: Women’s health, LARC contraception (Mirena and Jadelle), and MHT
