Services for casual patients

To better support the health and wellbeing of our community, Health New Lynn is proud to introduce services available for casual visitors of the practice. This means that you do not need to be enrolled with Health New Lynn to access these services.

With your consent, we can send a copy of your results to your GP or healthcare provider for interpretation and follow-up if needed.

Long acting reversible contraception (LARC) services

We provide Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) consultations and procedures through our dedicated LARC clinic, which operates every Friday.

Prior to your procedure, you will have a consultation with a GP or Nurse to explore which option is best for you, ensuring safe, confidential, and high-quality contraceptive care. Services include:

  • IUCD (Mirena) insertion & removal
  • Jadelle insertion & removal
  • Contraception consultations, including assessment, counselling, and suitability for LARC options.

Spirometry

Concerned about your lungs? Whether you’re managing a chronic cough, shortness of breath, or just want peace of mind, spirometry testing is a quick, non-invasive way to check how well your lungs are functioning.

This service is ideal for:

  • Those that often experience shortness of breath, chronic cough, or wheezing
  • Smokers or ex-smokers concerned about their lung health
  • People with a family history of respiratory conditions
  • Those needing a lung function report for pre-employment, insurance, or medical clearance.

Cost for casual patients – $80

Note: Health New Lynn does not provide interpretation of Spirometry results to casual patients.

Ear suction clinic

Our experienced nurses offer microscopic and micro-suction ear wax removal, a safe and effective way to clear blocked ears. The procedure typically takes around 20 minutes and is suitable for most people experiencing symptoms of ear wax buildup, such as muffled hearing, discomfort, or ringing in the ears.

Cost – $65

Note: Please put 3 drops of slightly warmed olive oil into the affected ear twice a day for 3 days before seeing the ear nurse.
