Our focus for 2026
We want your experience with Health New Lynn to be easy, supportive, and high quality. This year, we’re working on three key areas to make your care even better:
- Faster access and shorter wait times – so you can get the care you need, when you need it
- Looking after your whole health and wellbeing – not just treating symptoms, but supporting your overall health
- Making every visit a positive experience – with excellent service and a welcoming, caring atmosphere.
We work as a team to provide complete care for all our patients. Your GP may refer you to other members of our healthcare team, who are better suited to your health or wellbeing needs. To learn more about our team and how we can help, visit our website.
GP assignment
We’ve listened to your feedback and understand that having an assigned GP is important to you. Going forward, you’ll be able to see the same doctor for your appointments, helping you build a stronger relationship and ensuring they have a deeper understanding of your health history and personal needs.
We have already started this transition, with the goal of having all patients assigned to a GP by March 2026. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to reception on 09 827 8888 or email welcome@healthnewlynn.co.nz.

Repeat prescription changes
The New Zealand Government has announced that from 1 February 2026, repeat medications can be prescribed for up to 12 months, but only when it’s safe for you.
- Some health conditions still need regular check-ups, often every 3–6 months
- Certain medicines require blood tests or physical checks to make sure that the medication is right for you.
If you are overdue for a review, you must see your doctor before we can prescribe you more of your medication. These reviews make sure your treatment stays safe, effective, and right for you.
Immigration medical
We are pleased to share that Health New Lynn now offers a dedicated immigration medical services clinic for individuals applying to Immigration New Zealand for a visa. For more information on these services, please see our website.
