March Health & Wellness Update

Updates

Kia ora koutou,

We hope you have been enjoying the autumn weather. It’s shaping up to be a great year and we look forward to supporting your health and wellbeing, and that of your family, through 2025 and beyond.
To keep up with the latest, be sure to follow us on Facebook.

Flu vaccine
With flu season fast approaching, make sure to get your flu vaccine early to protect you and your whānau. The vaccine is available to everyone aged six months and over, and is free for certain groups of people. Click here to see if you are eligible for a free flu vaccine.
For patients who are NOT eligible for a free vaccine, the cost is $35 for both enrolled and casual (unenrolled) patients.

To get your vaccine, we will be offering both walk-in and booked appointments for anyone coming in to see a GP, from 1 April 2025.

The flu vaccine lowers the risk of getting the flu and its complications. Getting the vaccine helps protect vulnerable people in our community from getting sick, particularly young children, older adults, and immune compromised patients. Get in touch with our friendly team on 09 827 8888 to find out more!

Unavoidable fees increase
We have held off for as long as possible, however, with government funding increasing at only 4% in the last year, and our costs having risen more than 9% this last 12 months alone, we have been left with no other choice but to increase our fees.

Please know this is the last resort, and is not a decision we have taken lightly, as we truly understand the impact this will have on whānau.

Thank you for supporting us, and please remember, if finance is an issue, please have a quiet word with our reception team.

We strongly encourage you to write to the Minister of Health, Simeon Brown, along with your local MP (a template letter is available via the links below), expressing your dismay at the increase in fees and outlining the impact the increase will have on you and your whānau.
